THE YOUTH PROGRAM AT THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF THE RESURRECTION

A message from our Youth and Family Minister

Our new youth program will focus on S.W.E.A.T. This stands for Service, Worship, Evangelism, Activities, and Training. We will be doing service work on the church campus as well as in the Austin area. We will be focused on Worshiping together at ECR as well as become active participants in the liturgy. We will participate in Evangelism by bringing friends to ECR’s EYC and other activities. We will be doing many fun activities as a community. Training will occur when learning about God during the Sunday morning hour.

PROJECT CARE CASE - A YOUTH AND FAMILY MINISTRY OUTREACH

In Dedember, the Youth Group solicited suitcases, stuffed animals, blankets, and personal items to be given to children in foster care programs where they may be moved around frequently. This gives the child something comforting and something they can truly call their own during this difficult time in their lives. The congregation generously supported the youth in this initative. Below is a picture of several members of the youth group, Susan Burnham, Youth and Family Minister at ECR and Connie Bellows, founder and director of Project Care Case.

I ask for your prayers;

Almighty God, who called Jeremiah and Timothy as youth to be your servants: assist us to live into our Baptismal vows; to be responsible for seeing that the children and youth present in this congregation are brought up in the Christian faith and life; that our continual prayers and witness will help them grow into the full stature of Christ; and guide and empower us, to do all in our power to support them in their lives in Christ, who with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns now and forever. Amen.

I will be in the Church office on Mondays and Wednesdays, but can be reached via email or phone at other times.
